J. Shea Jewelers-Success Story

J. Shea Jewelers is a dream of mine come true.

I was afforded the opportunity to help my dad with his lawn mowing business from the age of 13. It taught me valuable lessons of hard work, running a business, and dealing with customers. I worked with him until the age of 16 when I began driving. Then, I received valuable work experience in a real world atmosphere and with a jewelry store.

On March 22, 1999 I opened my first store in the Mall of Abilene. It was a 100 square-foot kiosk.

I was a youth minister in Sweetwater, going to college and running the store. I ran the store with the help of four employees until Nov. 5, 1999. when we opened J. Shea Jewelers in its current location at 3246 S. 27th in the Chimney Plaza Shopping Center.

I graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in 2003.

I am now youth minister at Hodges Baptist Church in Hawley I found a lifemate that has helped me run my company for five years now.

We have enjoyed tremendous success with God leading us the whole way.We keep Him at the forefront of everything we do.We have remodeled three times in our current location to accommodate our growing business.

We are now at full compacity, with a tremendous selection of jewelry to choose from.We have the only CAD/CAM jewelry design system in Abilene and the surrounding areas. We can custom design anything you can imagine, and best of all, you can see it before we make it with our computer system.

We will continue to grow and service our customers in outstanding ways.
